Manager – Business Research/ Strategy/ Business Analytics
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 7+ years (with 3 years in Insurance Sector)
Job Description:
Role: Analyst – International Business. The role will support International Strategy and Business Initiatives agreed by Global/International Executive.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support on identified projects and work to International Strategy
- Develop and Maintain models
- Produce two to four papers every month on key themes impacting International Exec Agenda in collaboration with London
- Maintain knowledge library
- Build relationships so as not to reinvent/duplicate what they are doing
- Build relationships within the Captive to use various tools – A.M.Best, S&P, One Source, Bloomberg, and Statistical Software
- Build relationships with data sources in London on what they are doing
- Help in presentations, speeches for Exec Team Members
- The job may involve travel to APAC region
BAU Activities:
- GPW/NPW of identified markets – Biannual
- Capacity, Retention, Ceding ratios – Biannual
- Direct vs. brokered view – Biannual
- Performance in customers with high ceding ratios – Quarterly
- Emerging market trends – Quarterly
- Competitor analysis – Quarterly
- Client analysis – Quarterly
- Speciality lines – Agriculture, Credit & Bond. Emerging Risks – Monthly
- Top 20 Reinsurer analysis – Annual
- Macro economic trends (inflation, interest rates, GDP, deficits, saving rates) – Quarterly
- Domicile analysis – Annual
- New products and Emerging risks – Quarterly
- Listens to results to pick up emerging terms and trends – Quarterly, Clients, reinsurers to be identified
- Preparing the proposition, possible customers and execution strategy
- Pricing trends by countries and class of businesses
- Analysis on broker remuneration etc
- Baseline data on claims collection and other performance parameters important for the Exec
Experience:
- At least 3 years experience in Insurance
- Has produced white papers, presentations and analytical pieces for senior management
Skills:
- Has used tools such as AM Best, S&P and other tools
- Excellent presentation and Excel Skills
- Good English writing and communication skills
Qualification:
- Does not matter, but the candidate should be in the top quartile in this space.
